Congratulations to our High School POWER Student of the Month for APRIL. Students are nominated for exemplifying/practicing the POWER expectations. Bryan was nominated for the following reasons - He is always positive and helps others. He is so respectful of others and their rights to learn. He works with others and with teachers. His smile brightens my day. Bryan shows empathy to others often and works to include everyone in his actions. He is respectul and responsible and it shows in his actions and his words. Opportunity for 2025-2026 High School Students!
If you live in Central Electric’s footprint, in town or out of town, you are eligible to apply for an unforgettable summer experience – Youth Excursion.
Up to four students will win a trip to Basin Electric in Bismarck, N.D., for a youth event unlike any other. From July 21-23, 2025, participants will stay on campus at Bismarck State College. During this time, they will have the opportunity to sightsee, make friends and gain a new understanding of electricity.
Students will tour the Great Plains Synfuel Plant, Freedom Coal Mine and Antelope Valley Station Power Plant to see where South Dakota’s power is generated. There will also be plenty of time built in for recreation and socializing. Students will play games, visit local attractions and much more. Participants can look forward to connecting with students from across South Dakota, building strong friendships and learning from their peers.
The deadline to apply is June 2. All 8th-11th students have an email with the details to apply or contact Mrs. Johnson.
