Hey PSD Families We would like to do something different this year prior to the start of the first day of school! We invite you to come to the school on Sunday, August 24th and write a positive message to your student on the school's sidewalks. We will have a basket of sidewalk chalk available for you to use. We would love to see our sidewalks filled with color, designs and positive messages to start the school year.

the words newsletter in different colors

This past week, teachers spent time learning. On Tuesday, August 12, the teachers and paras went to Mitchell and joined several other school districts to listen to Trevor Muir who is a passionate educator, speaker, and author who believes in the transformative power of education and then in the afternoon they met with other colleagues from other districts in their grade level and/or content area. On Wednesday, August 13, we started the day with a presenter who shared information ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences ) - which helps educators understand the dynamics that trauma has on an individual and community. It explains the connection between brain development and adaptive behaviors in people who have experienced trauma and discuss resiliency and how to build it. We also spent time learning about opioid overdoses and training in how to use Narcan in those situations, LifeVac, which is a tool that can assist in a choking situation and reviewing our Success Action Plan. On Thursday, August 14, we started that day with Threat Preparedness/Active Shooter Training and then finished the day with reviewing and training in our local crisis/emergency operations plan. It was a full three days for staff in the areas of safety in all factions of student and staff life. The presenters for the ACES training and the Active Shooter Training are from the SD School Safety Program. SD Dept of Public Safety

ANNUAL HOUSEHOLD RENEWAL

Plankinton School District Families:

It is that time of year to log on to your Parent Portal and complete your annual household online registration/renewal. Please utilize the updated link below. If you try to log on with a saved link from last year, it will not work. If you have a Campus Portal App, you will need to log out and then log back in and the current school year should be available to you.

If you need to create a parent portal account, just click on the link below and when the screen opens, click on New User.

Returning Student Registration
Log into your Parent Portal account. – use the new link below
Select the Online Registration option from the Index
Review the Registration Information that displays.
Select the Registration Year from the dropdown list and click Begin Registration
If your children have been enrolled in the district in the past, the Returning Student Registration process allows you to review existing information and update that information as needed.

If you are an existing family but you have a new child to add – I believe you should either see New Student Registration button or once you get into your account, there is a button to add a new student.

Please make sure all the information on your student is correct. It is important for the district to have your correct information.

https://plankintonsd.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/parents/plankinton.jsp

All families must complete the online household renewal process.

If you have any questions, please contact the district.

Thank you
